Our Story

SERVPRO of South Cabarrus County understands the stress and worry that comes with a fire or water damage and the disruption it causes your life and home or business. When John and his wife Kathy first decided to go into the restoration business with SERVPRO, many factors led to this decision. At the time, John had already retired, giving him much free time. With that free time, he remodeled his house and traveled quite often visiting his family and friends. One weekend John and Kathy decided to take a break from the routine and find a new business path for a restless John, in their mountain home. Upon entering the house, they could hear water running throughout the home. This was their 3rd water-loss at their 3rd property. Like a reflex, Kathy called their insurance, and John called SERVPRO. When John saw the crews drying and repairing his home, he felt like this business was a better suit for his set of skills. For John, it was always a pleasure to watch the rebuild process after the necessary removal of hazardous material.  After his water-loss, John began the process of owning a SERVPRO. He went through a vetting process and rigorous training to help other customers. On opening day, John took on the most substantial loss he ever had to date. To complete this job, he needed to hire his wife Kathy and one other employee. The facility was massive, but they finished it with the knowledge attained with 20+ days of training with SERVPRO and having counsel from a network of trainers. John was able to skillfully assist his client and bring business back up after a sprinkler tried to slow them down. John felt like nothing could stop him in his chosen territory of Cabarrus County. Over the last ten years, John has earned his master technician title. He has helped others receive theirs and helped anyone else with the best of his knowledge.

Our Equipment

We use LGR Dehumidifiers (a device that removes excess moisture from the air). Low-Grain Refrigerants have an enhanced refrigeration system that allows the dehumidifier to dry an area to a much lower humidity than conventional refrigerant dehumidifiers.

Another Dehumidifier we use is a desiccant. Desiccant dehumidifiers are especially well-suited for removing moisture from the air at a low temperature and low humidity level.

For Carpet and upholstery cleaning we use a truck mount carpet cleaner a unit that is generally mounted to the floor of a van or trailer. Its cleaning method is hot water extraction.

An air mover is defined as a portable ventilation control device. This unit is great for the carpet cleaning and flood restoration industry. It can dry large areas of carpeting in short periods of time, all while pulling low amounts of power.
